I have over fourteen years experience in coordinating projects, budgeting and forecasting projects as well as in all phases of production, production management, copy writing, art direction, design and design management. My design experience runs the gamut from Direct Marketing and print to advertising, marketing and the Web. I have been managing people and getting them to do their best work for over fifteen years. I'm a people person but also one that's not afraid to be in the foxhole.
My background is in design and technology with a specialty in helping clients find creative solutions. I'm a "hands on" marketing strategist with my eye keenly bent on increasing revenue and profitability. I work extremely well under pressure and like the thrill of the hunt. I'm a problem solver that can translate ideas into product.
Some of my recent work has been for Credo Reference, a library science organization, where I've designed and produced a number of interactive and collateral pieces; and for Scholastic.com, where I converted a partial library of publications to ePubs for Nook, Kindle and iPad; I've also acted as a team consultant and trainer for best practices.
Prior to the above I have been employed by Staples, Inc. as Associate Creative Director, GN Netcom/Jabra in Nashua, NH, as Worldwide Creative Services Manager, as Global Creative Services Manager for 3Com, Inc. in Marlborough, MA and for Selbert Perkins in Cambridge, MA where I was more on the technology side, but nevertheless involved heavily with wayfinding.
I’ve also helped build a small startup called TheftyJack Studios that develops products for smartphones. Our first app for the iPhone, called Abracadial (www.abracadial.com,) is a contact utility that is available in the Apple store. This past December we released our first game for the iPhone called Zombie I Scream (https://vimeo.com/103542047) where you can help save the world from zombies by feeding them antidote-laden ice cream cones. My next project is a small startup called Educating Industries, who’s hallmark project is a web portal called The Daily Scam (www.thedailyscam.com) the portal's goal is to help schools and businesses stay safe from email spam and other internet threats.
I'm very active in my home town of Marblehead, MA where I live with my wife, daughter, two terrible cats that drag in local wildlife and try to pass it off as a gift, and a dog that won’t come when I call him. I am as passionate about my work as I am about my family and friends.
